Unlock New Opportunities with Expunction!

Posted by Scott Markowitz | Nov 27, 2024 | 0 Comments

🔑 A criminal record can make it hard to move forward. Expunction can give you a clean slate.

An expunction is a legal process that removes criminal convictions or charges from a person's record and destroys or seals the state's records of the arrest, charge, and/or conviction:

  • What it means
An expunction effectively deletes a criminal record and history. After an expunction, a person can deny having a criminal record and does not have to disclose the incident.

  • How it works
In Texas, agencies have at least 30 days to look into their records and agree to the expunction. If no agency objects, the judge signs the expunction and instructs the agencies to physically shred or digitally delete any record of the arrest.

  • Who may qualify
In Texas, you may qualify for expunction if you were:

    • Acquitted at trial

    • Pardoned

    • Never formally charged with a crime

    • Arrested for a felony or misdemeanor offense

Let's talk about your options!📝
