How a traffic warrant can result in an arrest:
  • Routine traffic stop: If you are pulled over for any reason, the police officer will check your information and discover the outstanding warrant. You can then be arrested on the spot.
  • Warrant roundups: Many jurisdictions conduct periodic or annual "warrant roundups," where law enforcement officers actively seek out and arrest individuals with outstanding warrants, including those for traffic violations.
  • Other consequences: In addition to potential arrest, ignoring a traffic warrant can result in further penalties, including:
    • Additional fees and increased fines.
    • Suspension or denial of your driver's license.
    • An additional charge for failure to appear.
